Tri-Rivers Kiwanis Club to Launch Dolly Parton Imagination Library in King William

King William County, VA – March 4, 2025 – The Tri-Rivers Kiwanis Club, dedicated to serving children and improving the quality of life in King William County, is proud to announce an exciting new initiative to bring the Dolly Parton Imagination Library to local families. The goal is to begin enrolling children in the program by September of 2025, with community fundraising efforts underway to support the endeavor.

The Dolly Parton Imagination Library is a groundbreaking program that aims to inspire a love of reading and literacy among young children. The program provides one free book every month to children from birth to age five, no matter their family’s income. Since its inception, the program has distributed millions of books to children across the United States and around the world. By introducing this program in King William County, the Tri-Rivers Kiwanis Club hopes to foster early childhood literacy and ensure that every child in the community has access to the tools they need to succeed academically. The Dolly Parton Imagination Library provides 50% of the funding to serve local communities, with approximately 25% provided by the state of Virginia. The balance of funding is contributed by the local partner agency. In order to support this program, the Tri-Rivers Kiwanis Club will be hosting fundraising events and seeking donations from local businesses, individuals, and organizations. Contributions will help cover the costs of book distribution, ensuring that no child is left behind. The community’s support will be vital to the program’s success, and all funds raised will directly benefit local children.
